LatestReminder emails, and Google Meet links with a personal Gmail account.
- Google Meet no longer needs Google Workspace. Meet links are now created by connecting your own Google account in Settings → Video. This replaces domain-wide delegation, which only a Workspace admin could set up. Paste the Client ID and Client Secret from your Google Cloud project, click Connect Google account and approve calendar access. Disconnect revokes access at Google as well as removing it from your site. Your service account still handles availability and booking events; the connected account is used only to add the Meet link.
- A new step-by-step setup guide. Settings → Video now walks you through seven numbered steps, with a direct link to each Google Cloud page. Your project ID, home page, privacy policy page, authorized domain and redirect URI are filled in for you to copy.
- Failed Meet links are no longer silent. Previously a booking that could not get a Meet link was confirmed without one and nothing told you. A notice on the Dashboard and the CalNative screens now shows Google's reason, and it clears once a link is created again or you save the Video settings.
- More reliable links. Google sometimes finishes creating a meeting a moment after the event is saved. The plugin now waits up to three seconds for the link instead of confirming the booking without one.
- Clearer permission errors. If calendar access is not granted on Google's permissions screen, Settings → Video lists what Google did grant and tells you which box to tick.
- Jitsi Meet is the default video provider on new installs, because it works without any setup. Existing video settings are unchanged.
- Added reminder emails. Two new sections in Settings → Email, Host Reminder and Guest Reminder, each with its own on/off switch, the number of hours before the appointment to send it (1 to 168), and an editable subject and body. The default text includes the Join Meeting button, so the video link is in the reminder too. Reminders are off until you switch them on.
- Reminders are sent once, never to a canceled booking, and never after the appointment has started. A booking made less than that many hours ahead gets no reminder, because its confirmation has only just been sent. They go out through the WordPress scheduler, which runs when your site has visitors, so on a very quiet site one can arrive a few minutes late.
- Added the
{meet_link}token, which inserts the plain video meeting address, to the host and guest emails as well as the reminders. Use{meeting_button}for the styled button. - A tidier Email tab. Its sections now open and close, and start closed. The host, guest and reminder sections show On or Off in their header, so you can see what is switched on without opening them.
